Q. May I edit or customize the manuscripts I receive?
A. You're free to edit or customize features to meet the unique needs of your readers. Many editors, for instance, insert company- or industry-specific statistics, examples or quotations from readers. Some features even contain editor's prompts containing customization tips.
Q. How much do FeaturesNow articles cost?
A. Most features are $65 for one-time use. The only exceptions are the half-dozen or so "scrapbooks" - filler collections containing between 20 and 50 short features. Cost of the scrapbooks range from $89 to $149.
Q. Can I really review features at no cost or obligation?
A. Yes, yes, yes!
Q. I decided not to use several manuscripts you sent me. Do I need to return them?
A. No. Simply discard them, mark" cancel" on the Easy Invoice, and return the Easy Invoice.
Q. What's the Easy Invoice all about?
A The Easy Invoice eliminates paperwork. You can use the Easy Invoice to accept manuscripts, process payment or cancel the review request. The bottom line: the Easy Invoice keeps the cost of features down.
Q. I requested and received four manuscripts. I've decided to use two of them, but I won't be able to decide on the other two for several months. What should I do?
A. Hold on to the two that you're not sure about. Mark "cancel" on the Easy Invoice you received, and return the Easy Invoice. If you decide to use one or both manuscripts later on, pay for them at that time. Just be sure you enclose a copy of the original Easy Invoice with your payment.
Q. What kind of features do you offer?
A. We publish features on topics of contemporary interest to readers of corporate, trade and association publications. The goal: to provide practical ideas, information and inspiration that readers can use right away. And whenever possible, we try to translate technical or scholarly information into easy-to-understand prose.
A. We publish a traditional print version and a Web version of our periodical. Is there any extra cost for including a feature in the Web version?
A. If the print and Web versions offer the same content and are directed toward the same audience, there's no extra charge.
Q. Is a by-line required?
A. No.
Q. Are features available in electronic and paper form?
A. Yes. We usually send features by e-mail. But we're also happy to provide features on 3.5" disk or in plain old paper form. (And yeah, occasionally an older but timeless feature is available only in paper form. We're gradually converting these to digital).
Q. Do I need to furnish you a copy of the feature when it's published in my periodical?
A. No.
Q. May we include our own by-line on a syndicated manuscript?
A. Yes.
Q. Do you prepare custom manuscripts?

Q. How frequently do you release new features?
A. At least monthly, sometimes more frequently. If you're a subscriber you'll receive a monthly e-bulletin. Or you can subscribe by feed and receive update notices as new features are released.
